Smiles at 4:30 am

Kaleb isn't much of a crier...he grunts. The following situation isn't an exception to the "norm", but for some reason I felt I wanted to "document" it.

At 4:30 am I heard his little grunts starting up, he had been sleeping for 7 hours, but I still patted his chest to see if he'd find his way back to peaceful sleep. His eyes opened wide and once he recognized me a big smile spread across his face and his legs kicked with excitement to see me. I LOVE this precious child!!!

I fed him and after 20 min. just as quickly as he woke he was fast asleep...dreaming of the far off land of Motta-Fa-Potta-Fa-Pell where he rides on a Fizza-ma-Wizza-ma-Dill!!! (oh baby the places you'll go! - A book to read in utero, adapted from the works of Dr. Seuss)

I continue to hold him and just stare adoringly at this most perfect beautiful face. He doesn't need me to hold him...I NEED to hold him, I need to feel his peace, I need the calming of his love.

1sts

We are in Rifle, CO for the week. Scott has a deer tag to fill. So Kaleb, Maddie and I decided to jump in for the adventure!

At 7 weeks old, this is Kalebs: 1st road trip to Colorado, 1st hunting trip, 1st time to stay in a hotel and... I may add more as the week goes on. I'm hoping to get in the pool... We shall see, haven't found swim diapers small enough for his little bum!

He's just so much fun, and already so adventurous!

Kaleb was two weeks old in these pictures. He looks older than that to me, but he never seemed to "look" like a newborn to me... ???

Sweet Pea Photography did an amaZing job on our pictures!!!

He's now almost two months! Can't believe how time flys! I love this kid. We've been spoiled beyond belief.

Babies-R-Us

So we're out shopping and I have Kaleb in the hug-a-bug. (see the hiking post). His head is usually stuffed inside and fast asleep. We get into babies-r-us and he pops his head out, folds his little arms under his head and just watches me and checks out all the baby-goods!! I just laughed...out loud!!

LOVE this kid! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!

Welcome Home Kaleb

Sooooo, September 18, 11:15 PM, My water breaks. September 19, 2011, 8:30 AM we go to hospital and start a long day of labor fun!!!

September 19, 2011 Kaleb Scott Woolsey is born at 10:28 PM. 7lbs. 8 oz. 21 in. (we thought they said 18...he's not.)
Almost 24 hours of laboring. Good thing we had amazing midwifes and nurses and a birthing pool!!

09-20-11

I didn't want to sleep in the hospital bed, alone. So I actually slept with Scott on the couch. :-) We were so tired the small space didn't seem to matter... to me anyway, I just wanted to be close to my AMAZING husband!!!

Watching the sunrise from our hospital room, it was a beautiful view, inside and out.

Joni and Kids come down to visit, what FUN!!!

Grandpa Val and Aunt Nancy come to visit as well.

09-21-11

While I showered and got cleaned up, Kaleb wanted to hang out with his daddy... oh... Melt my heart!!

Oh, how I love my little boy!!!

Ready to go home with mom and dad!!! Yea!!!

Our home will NEVER be the same...thank goodness!!!
